On September 1, the 2025 Saudi Drone Expo (SADEX 2025) grandly opened at the Riyadh Arena Exhibition Hall in Saudi Arabia. As the most influential professional drone exhibition in the Middle East, it brought together the latest technological achievements and application solutions from the global drone industry.
01 Exhibition Highlights
The Saudi Drone Expo is one of the fastest-growing large-scale drone exhibitions globally. This year’s event attracted over 1,100 exhibitors from 63 countries and regions.
More than 60,000 professional visitors are expected to attend the exhibition. The event is open only to invited guests, highlighting its professional and high-end nature.
The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) participated in this year’s exhibition, which carried the theme “The Future of Drones and Integrated Transformation.”
02 Cutting-Edge Products and Technologies
The exhibition floor featured a wide array of drone products and technologies, covering the entire industry chain.
Exhibits included drone manufacturers and suppliers, IT solutions experts, artificial intelligence technology specialists, national security solutions, and geographic information system (GIS) mapping solutions and service providers.
Chinese companies showcased advanced technological achievements. Naret Technology debuted its new 3,000m altimeter radar UAM285 overseas, which boasts a long-range sensing capability of 3,000 meters and achieves high-precision measurement with an accuracy of ±0.03 meters.
03 Market Prospects and Application Fields
Saudi Arabia has incorporated the drone industry into its “Vision 2030” plan, with drones playing a significant role in the country’s economic transformation.
Experts predict that from 2024 to 2028, Saudi Arabia’s drone market will maintain an upward trajectory, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.13%. By 2028, the country’s drone market is expected to reach an impressive 35,600 units.
Drone technology is already playing a crucial role in multiple industries in Saudi Arabia: the oil and gas sector uses them for gas fire inspections, pipeline monitoring, and leak detection; the agricultural field employs drones equipped with multispectral sensors and advanced cameras to enhance crop health monitoring and improve irrigation systems; the logistics industry is trialing drones for order deliveries.
04 Chinese Participation
Chinese companies actively participated in the exhibition, demonstrating China’s strength in drone technology.
Notable Chinese exhibitors included Shijiazhuang Hengrong Shitong Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., Nanchang Ruiji Trading Co., Ltd., and Beijing Luopan Space Technology Co., Ltd., among others.
Products displayed by Chinese companies covered various areas such as drone radar systems, flight control technology, and power systems, showcasing the comprehensive development of China’s drone industry.
05 Future Outlook
During the exhibition, several high-level forums and conferences were held, inviting government officials and top experts from Saudi Arabia and around the world to share insights on core technologies and related policies concerning drone and artificial intelligence applications.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage in direct dialogues with officials from various countries, delving deep into the challenges and opportunities presented by drones.
