TADTE 2025 Kicks Off in Taipei, Showcasing Next-Generation Unmanned, Defense, & Space, Technologies

TADTE 2025 opens in Taipei, uniting 490 companies from 15 countries. Showcasing next-generation defense, space, and unmanned technologies, the exhibition highlights Taiwan’s strengths in innovation, supply chain resilience, and international collaboration

The Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE), organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), officially opened today (September 18) at Hall 1 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.

This year’s event brings together 490 companies from 15 countries across 1,500 booths, setting a record scale. At a time when the global aerospace and defense industries are rapidly advancing toward intelligence, space capabilities, and resilient supply chains, TADTE 2025 has attracted strong international attention.

Leveraging Taiwan’s strengths in semiconductors, ICT, and precision manufacturing, and under the government’s “Five Trusted Industry Sectors” initiative, the exhibition highlights Taiwan’s growing role in R&D, resilient supply chains, and international collaboration.

The opening ceremony was presided over by TAITRA Chairman James Huang, Legislative Yuan Mr. Chi-Chen Chiang, Minister of National Defense Wellington Mr. Koo Li-hsiung, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Ms. Cynthia Kiang, and Acting Director of the American Institute in Taiwan, Ms. Karin Lang. They were joined by Michael Robbins, President and CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), as well as senior representatives from Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and other global defense contractors. The ceremony drew leading figures from government, industry, and academia, underscoring the exhibition’s stature as a premier international platform.

Under the slogan ‘Future Defense, Boundless Innovation,’ the exhibition centers on four themes: Advanced Defense, Green Aviation, Resilient Supply Chains, and Unmanned Evolution.

The Ministry of National Defense Pavilion once again brought large-scale military equipment to the exhibition floor, with the M1A2T tank and HIMARS rocket system unveiled for the first time, giving visitors a rare chance to see Taiwan’s modernized defense capabilities up close.

The Taiwan Space Pavilion, led by the National Space Organization together with 39 academic and industry partners, presented the complete technology chain spanning satellite design, 5G/B5G communications, and energy management, with a spotlight on the latest progress of the Formosat-8 program.

The Asia UAV AI Innovation Application R&D Center built a full industrial cluster with 21 unmanned vehicle suppliers, while the Aerospace Industry Pavilion, led by Hanxiang Aviation and 19 of its member companies, introduced counter-drone and high-speed interception systems that showcased Taiwan’s cross-domain innovation. Meanwhile, Taiwan Defense Industry Development Association Pavilion made its debut at TADTE with 23 companies spanning aerospace, shipbuilding, cybersecurity, and logistics, reflecting the broad scope of Taiwan’s defense sector.

Covering the full spectrum, from undersea systems to outer space and from critical components to integrated platforms, TADTE 2025 maps out the full spectrum of Taiwan’s defense and aerospace capabilities. Industry leaders such as AIDC, Bright Future Homeland Security, Tron Future, Compal, and Ubiqconn Technology are showcasing cutting-edge developments, alongside UAV and supply chain innovators including Thunder Tiger, Coretronic, and Taya Taiwan’s three major shipbuilders, CSBC, Lungteh, and CSIC, are also participating, together with Corum, a specialist in unmanned surface vessels. Notably, CSBC unveiled Taiwan’s first domestically built submarine, the Hai Kun, marking a historic milestone in the nation’s defense self-reliance policy.

On opening day, the International Space Forum focused on resilient communications and space security, featuring speakers such as Mike Klipstein of League Advisors, Hirokazu Hokazono from the Japan Institute for Space and Security, Jeffrey Lewis of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program, CNS, and Johns Hopkins lecturer Renny Babiarz.

Tomorrow, the International Unmanned Vehicle Forum will bring together experts including Michael Robbins, President & CEO of AUVSI; Robert Fintak, President of the Polish Chamber of Unmanned Systems; Kakuya Iwata of JUIDA; and Pavel Diviš, Chairman of the Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber. With more than 180 professionals registered, the forum is set to provide valuable insights into global UAV markets and collaboration opportunities.

To further strengthen global partnerships, TAITRA has arranged one-on-one procurement meetings, welcoming more than 140 buyers from 30 countries—including the United States, India, Japan, Mexico, Poland, and Italy—for business matchmaking with Taiwanese suppliers. These business matchmaking sessions are expected to generate tangible cross-border collaboration. On the second day, the Aerospace Industry Networking Event will gather an additional 150 international buyers and local enterprises, offering a dynamic platform for new partnerships.

TADTE 2025 continues through September 20. International visitors with pre-registered QR codes enjoy fast-track entry. As Taiwan’s leading platform linking local strengths with global opportunities, TADTE continues to chart a bold course for the future of aerospace and defense.
