Rosefinch Technology’s compact and lightweight platform-agnostic drone tether stations provide a wide range of options to suit virtually any weight and power requirements. The rapidly-deployable units can be easily carried by a single operator, and include a rugged ground station and low-SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) easy-to-install aerial module.

The ultra-reliable stations offer constant voltage output, delivering maximum efficiency in battery charging and discharging and ensuring that a fully charged standby state is maintained during operation. A convenient touchscreen display offers real-time information on parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, cable length, power consumption and battery capacity. 

The highly durable cable is constructed from lightweight temperature-resistant aviation wire, sheathed in a composite fluoroplastic insulation layer and a high-tensile aviation-grade woven fiber layer. Single-mode fiber cable is also available for optional fiber optic communication.

Multiple safety layers for maximum protection and reliability

The tether stations are designed with complete electrical isolation of high-voltage AC and low-voltage DC power, ensuring the utmost in safety. Multiple built-in protection mechanisms and automatic fault detection safeguard against issues such as input overvoltage and undervoltage, output overcurrent, and short circuits.

The system utilizes a low-voltage soft starting mode that replaces traditional circuit breaker and air switch-based starting. A built-in backup power supply automatically engages in the event of a sudden power outage, with an emergency cable retraction function to minimize the risk of entanglement.

Intelligent winch control & communications

6kw power tether station for droneRosefinch tether stations offer fully autonomous smart winch control capabilities, enabling the drone to takeoff and land with no need for operator intervention. Cable tension is monitored continually with precise torque control to ensure maximum stability, safety and efficiency.

 The systems offer a range of wired and wireless communications options between the drone GCS and the ground tether station, including USB Type-C and Bluetooth 5.0.
